Swallows

History

The "Swallows" were another Belgian Air Force aerobatic display team.
The team was formed in 1973 from within the Elementary Flying Training School using just two SIAI-Marchetti SF-260 trainers. In 1976, the team grew to three aircraft. In 1983, their activities had to be halted for budgetary reasons, but, in 1985, the "Swallows" were re-established. This time the team was equipped with two SF-260s which were painted in an overall light blue color along with national flag stripes. The team was finally again disbanded in 1997.
