Esquadrliha da Fumaca
The aerobatic display squadron of the Brazilian Air Force consists of
twelve Embraer EMB-314 (A-29 Super Tucano) aircraft; seven of which
participate in air demonstrations with the rest in reserve. Candidates
for display pilots must have a minimum of 1500 flight hours experience
with at least 800 flight hours as instructors. Every year, three new
pilots are added to the squadron. The ground staff for "Esquadrilha da
Fumaca" is drawn from the crews of the Air Academy. All aircraft of
"Esquadrilha da Fumaca" are equipped with smoke generators for releasing
white smoke.
