Alap-Alap Formation
The "Alap-Alap Formation" (Kestrel Formation) is the Royal Brunei Air
Force (Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei) aerobatic display team. The team
was formed on the 7 February 2011 and fly three Pilatus PC-7 Mk.II
turboprop aircraft, painted in white, blue, red and yellow colors. Each
of the planes is equipped with two white smoke pods. The team is a part
of No. 63 Training Squadron at Rimba Air Force Base. The "Alap-Alap
Formation" currently consists of three pilots: two RAF pilots, one of
whom is on loan from RAF service, while the other is under contract with
RBAF and one Royal Brunei Air Force pilot. All of the team use the
call-sign "Eagle".
